Ultrasound therapy is applied in case of osteoarthritis, myo-fascial pains, bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, pain caused by scarred tissue, phantom limb pain, joint luxation and muscle extension.
It results in heigher temperature of the tissue in the treated area, improved circulation and metabolism, better elasticity of the tissue and alleviated pain.
The treatment is painless and safe; the patient can feel only a mild pulsation or warmth on the skin. In the course of therapy we warm up the structures close to the bone thus stimulating the process of regeneration in chronic, degenerative conditions and inflammation.
The ultrasound is applied to the body by means of a probe; for better contact the skin is covered with some oil, gel or cream. The tissue is warmed up deep in the body thus diminishing the pain, spasm and inflammation of muscles and joints. Ultrasound therapy can be applied in a water bath too.
